Ingredients
- 200g butternut squash, peeled and cubed
- 1 ripe pear, peeled and cored
- 30g quinoa
- 60ml water
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- A tiny pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- 1.Rinse the quinoa thoroughly. In a small pot, combine the quinoa and 60ml of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed.
- 2.While the quinoa cooks, place the cubed butternut squash and pear in a steamer basket over boiling water.
- 3.Cover and steam for 10-15 minutes, until the squash is very tender when pierced with a fork.
- 4.Transfer the steamed squash, pear, cooked quinoa, olive oil, and optional cinnamon to a blender.
- 5.Blend until completely smooth. Add a tablespoon of warm water, breast milk, or formula at a time to reach your baby's preferred consistency.
