Ingredients
- 250g lean lamb mince
- 1 large sweet potato (approx. 200g), peeled and grated
- 1/2 small onion, very finely grated
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
- 100g plain whole-milk yogurt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Pinch of ground cumin (optional)
Instructions
- 1.In a medium bowl, combine the lamb mince, grated sweet potato, finely grated onion, and a pinch of cumin (if using). Use your hands to mix everything together thoroughly.
- 2.Shape the mixture into 10-12 small, flat patties, about 4-5 cm in diameter. This size is perfect for little hands.
- 3.Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the patties in the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd it. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- 4.While the patties are cooking, prepare the dip. In a small bowl, mix the plain yogurt with the chopped fresh mint.
- 5.Once cooked, transfer the patties to a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess oil. Let them cool down to a safe temperature before serving with the mint yogurt dip.
- 6.For younger babies, the cooked patties can be mashed or puréed to a suitable consistency.
