Ingredients
- 200g ground lamb
- 50g uncooked millet
- 1 medium carrot (approx. 80g)
- 1 small zucchini (approx. 100g)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg yolk (optional, for binding)
Instructions
- 1.Rinse 50g of millet, then add it to a small pot with 150ml of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and let it cool slightly.
- 2.While the millet cooks, finely grate the carrot and zucchini. Squeeze out any excess water from the zucchini using your hands or a clean cloth.
- 3.In a medium bowl, combine the ground lamb, cooked millet, grated carrot, grated zucchini, and dried parsley. If using, add the minced garlic and egg yolk. Mix everything together gently with your hands until just combined.
- 4.Form the mixture into 8-10 small, flat patties, about 4-5cm in diameter. This size is perfect for little hands to hold.
- 5.Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the patties in the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6.Let the patties cool down to a safe temperature before serving. They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
