Simple Pilav

Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- 1.Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 2.In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- 3.Add the rice to the pan and lightly sauté for 2–3 minutes until slightly translucent.
- 4.Add the water, salt, pepper, and cumin if using. Stir once and bring to a gentle boil.
- 5.Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- 6.Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- 7.Fluff the rice with a fork and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
